Mystic Lake Dot Com

I saw this pic on my employer's website. I got a girlish giggle from it. At first glance, you see a dealer doing her thing...pulling a card out of the shoe. That's fine. I don't see a bet, but thats not the best of it. Why is the tray cover on and the inventory slip in there? Never gonna see that on a live game. I hope.

One New Wii Game and stuff....

Its the Super NES cult classic Romance of the Three Kingdoms IV. I can't really complain though. They have been flooding us with lots of Virtual Console greatness. The new issue of Nintendo Power arrived and all was good in Cowlauncherville. I love that stupid little mag. It hints at the next releases which are TMNT for NES, Zelda 2, Vectorman, and Gradius 3 SNES. April should be full of goodness with the new Pokemon, SNK Car Fighters DS, and Super Paper Mario.
The boys over at http://www.penny-arcade.com/ seem to be digging the new Puzzle Quest game. Might be worth a look. Check out their latest comic for a chuckle.
Saw this game over at Blockbuster video. Never saw it anywhere else until the other day. http://psp.ign.com/articles/749/749820p1.html Platypus by MumboJumbo or whatever. Looked like Clayfighters meets Gradius for good times for only $20. Reviews don't seem to favor it all that much. How disappointing.
Got a chance to check out the new Gamestop in Southtown by Best Buy's new headquarters. Not bad. Pretty big as far as Gamestops go. They had a few hard to find gems like DDR Max2 and Extreme for PS2. I'm still on the lookout for Panzer Dragoon Orta. Trying to find one in great shape.

DS Games on Sale at Target $24

I live for stuff like this. I've been more about the DS these days than anything else. The ad doesn't show all the games on sale. Mostly everything in the game rack is though. Even winners like Final Fantasy III is only $24. Normally $40.

Don't Play Nice by Verbalicious

One of my fav songs on DDR Universe has a video on YouTube. I guess this gal had a one hit wonder on her hands. Kinda cool to see a music video for a song from DDR. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FA1WDBh0k4o

Some new teaser info on DDR Supernova 2. http://www.konami.jp/bemani/ddr/jp/am/sn2/ Luscious.

In WoW news, I hit 70 with my priest and 63 with my mage. I'm just having fun without powerleveling now. Always good times in Azeroth and Outland.

10 Day Later

I'll give you guys the skinny. Been playing alot of DDR Universe for the 360. I mean alot. I got pretty far in the quest mode, which I am starting to enjoy. Its kind of a grind to make any kind of progress, but it keeps me playing.
Turtles Arcade made it out today and I had about 30 min hands on. I like it. I still suck just like I used to, but I got 3 achievements so far.
For the Wii, we get Double Dungeons, Sonic Spinball, and Tecmo Bowl NES. Not bad, but far from stellar.
Been browsing Ebay for Dreamcast and Gameboy stuff. I think I just may get back into Samba De Amigo =)

Week in Review

Its been a bit since my update. Well, not really. Let me start off by praising Penny Arcade with their friday comic. http://www.penny-arcade.com/comic Sums up the whole Playstation Store. Its a wee bit more tedious than it should be. I still sorta approve of what they done with it so far. Its not bad, but could be better. They released Tekken 5 for download. I must say that its worth the $20. Its pretty and you get alot of content. The fighters and backgrounds are gorgeous, but I bet Tekken 6 will blow it away when it comes out.

DDR Universe released this last week for the 360. It was supposed to be in stores on wednesday. Well, Gamestop decided to 2-day it to the stores leaving me with an empty wednesday. Nuh-uh. I drove my tucchas to Best Buy and picked it up wednesday morning. Didn't quite feel like waiting an extra day for my Universe. I waited a whole year, so what would another day to? I dunno. I just had to have it wednesday i guess. So how is it? Well, I have to say its pretty good. The default settings have the backgrounds at blinding brightness. That can be turned down though. The song list is good. The dance steps are very good. The quest mode is kinda lame. You have to go city to city to dance in various challenges. Along the way you have to hire back up dancers for extra points and buy movie and sound clips. It sounds strange but all this stuff helps you in dance battles. Without these things, good luck. The manual is kinda crappy and doesn't explain much about the quest mode. Neither does the on screen instructions. Its kinda guess and go as to what happens. The good or bad (depending on how you look at it) thing is that Quest mode can potentially last for many months as you unlock more and more songs and stuff. The coolest part of the game so far for me is the calorie and step counter. Keeps track of how many calories burned and steps completed. Always fun to look at after a hard day on stage.

In other dancing news, my buddy, Steve upgraded his DDR machine to an In The Groove 2 board. He is a compter/arcade techie. He knows his stuff. He hacked the ITG board to play every single DDR song ever made plus thousands of fan made songs from Stepmania. Good God! He has about 3200+ songs on there. No joke. This thing is absolutely awesome. Its got songs from Family Guy, anime, Nintendo, and more. I was over there today and played for a good 2 hours. Makes my Supernova machine look like a 486 PC. He is getting me into the Stepmania process. I can eventually put thousands of songs on my own PC or laptop and hook up my Ignition pad with the USB port.
