Cowlauncher Jr at 6.5 weeks

Teri and I went to see the doctor and we got an early ultrasound. We also got a chance to see the heartbeat! Its was exciting and a very touching moment for both of us. So far everything is going great =)

Final Fantasy 12 comes out at Midnight and I will be part of the Gamestop crew that delivers. I am looking forward to the game and the $30 collector's guide as well. Seriously though. $30 for a guide? Its alot, but the thing is enormous!

Enjoying the Supernova big time. I haven't had much time to put into it as my legs have been killing me the last few days. The game is awesome though. So many songs and courses. The graphics are amazing and so is the interface. It looks like it saves the high scores for songs too. The only gripe I have with the game now is that the song selector reel makes a grating noise when cycling through the song list.

Old News

Whoever hasn't read this and is into DDR is slow. http://www.inthegroove.com/page/Press_Release

Not sure what will happen, but its obvious that ITG is a DDR rip off through and through. Some songs are quality, but the graphics just scream generic.

Kits for Supernova have started shipping and mine should come this week. Time to get my dance on!

Ultimate MK3 finally showed up on Friday and its good. Very good. The graphics are great but not perfect, but the best part is that the game is fast. The interface is perfect for XBOX Live. Only one button press in the menu and you are matched up. People like to pick Smoke. Alot. They have the same cheat. My record is 10-10. Its all good. Once again, an arcade stick would be teh ubar.

Lots of good stuff this week. All hail Phantasy Star Universe.

Holy Moses!

I can't believe I missed this. http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/740/740856p1.html The pain! That would have been sweet to catch it early. I think we may get this on Wednesday.

The next segment is a delicious serving of cut and paste courtesy of Magicbox. enjoy!

-Konami announced Parodius Portable for PSP, a collection of five classic shooters, including Parodius (1990), Gokujou Parodius (1994), Sexy Parodius (1996), Jikkyou Oshaberi Parodius (1995) and a secret game. Parodius Portable will be released in Japan in January 2007.
- Konami also announced Twinbee Portable for PSP, a collection of five classic shooters, including Twinbee (1985), Datana! Twin Bee (1991), Twin Bee Yahoo! (1995), Twin Bee (1996), and a secret game. Twinbee Portable will be released in Japan in January 2007.
- A third classic collection from Konami! It is Salamander Portable, which includes five classic shooters: Salamander (1986), Lifeforce (1987), Salamander 2 (1996), Xexex (1991) and a secret game. Salamander Portable is also coming out in January 2007.

PS3 machines will also come packed with Ricky Bobby. That will show off the BluRay for shizzle.

XBOX Live Down

There are some upgrades or something going on. That means I can't browse the Marketplace or see who is online playing. Major Nelson put this pic up. A JPG thats a cute little read actually. http://static.flickr.com/120/271784206_ed0fe3920f_o.jpg Gives me some time to play Dig Dug before the impending release of (crosses fingers) Contra tomorrow. BTW, Happy Birthday, Eminem. Thanks for all your songs that make me giggle. I don't like your new one though. Dont kill me plz, thx.

Rumors are that DDR Supernova upgrade kits are shipping as early as this week. The problem was that Konami was shipping unpatched old units that needed the upgrade. Soooo Betson has to go through each kit one by one upgrading the version taking as long as 1 hour per kit. I kinda have a hard time believing that though, but what choice do I have.

The console version of DDR SuperNova is still a fine product but I have one major beef with it. In order to finally unlock the "boss" songs, you have to beat them as an extra stage or you have to go through the Stellar Master Mode in its entirety. This would not be so bad but some of the the challenges are so hard that they are downright silly. I have no time to "find the invisible arrow" in a song or play Fascination Maxx in reverse. Most of the challenge to unlocking stuff involves playing the songs with modifactions to the speed, targets, ets. I do not like to use mods. Never have. Sure they do add a twist to the song..especially Fuwa or whatever its called. But who wants to play Healing D Vision on reverse sudden x3? Not me. Maybe if I memorize the song and show off at the arcade.

Still waiting on news of DDR Universe for the XBOX 360. In all honesty, it could be an evil Ultramix clone with their stupid song reel selector. The game simply never ever came out with a release date since its announcement at E3. What gives? Does it have something to do with the closing of Konami's Hawaii office months ago? I think so. Xbox's Ultramix 4 will have to do it for the holidays. Did I see a $29.99 price tag? I hope that its not because the game will suck. http://www.ebgames.com/product.asp?product%5Fid=210991 Ultramix 3 was a good game, but the graphics were too bubbly and colorful. It seemed designed for tweeny girls. I have to look over my shoulder and make sure nobody is watching while I play. Also, I have every song pack download so it takes an extra minute to load the game. Oh wait, upon further browsing of the EB Games coming soon site, I stumble upon this. It doesn't get more generic than this, folks. Shipping 1-1-07? I'm sure http://www.ebgames.com/product.asp?product%5Fid=t000397

World of Warcraft still sucks the life out of me. Teri and I went to Treasure Island yesterday and I took my laptop with me so I can practice my herbing and alchemy while she practiced the slot machines. WoW seems to be on the brain more often than I would like. If my guild wasn't so cool to play with, it would be time to retire the priest.

The UPS guy is gonna be pretty busy this week, but there is no reason to rush into your local Gamestop. Here's why. http://www.joystiq.com/2006/10/16/games-shipping-this-week/ A few good titles on there. Contact looks good. And as much as I love Family Guy, I'm gonna steer clear of this one. Summon Night 2? I still have to play the first one. Maybe I'll put it on my Hanukah registry.

Cowlauncher Jr June 2007

Its Happened! I'm gonna be a daddy! This is the big news and everybody is excited!

Too much going on in the gaming world.

Gamestop did some Wii preorders this morning and the turnout was good at Shakopee. It was double the turnout of the PS3 and the people there were gamers. Not entrepreneurs trying to make a buck.

I picked up the new Mortal Kombat today and had a nice scare with my XBOX. The lights started flashing green and orange. After searching the forums, turned out to be a problem with the AV cable but its seems fine now. I would be playing MK now but I am raiding the Molten Core in WoW now.

The XBOX Live Arcade page updated with Contra this week so maybe we will see it on release next Wednesday. Also available for download now is the Phantasy Star Universe beta. Free play until Wednesday.

A year of Gametap for only $50? Not a bad deal at all.

XBLA Wednesday 10-11

Looks like Dig Dug will be coming out for a cool 400 points. Worth a look. The big news is the Phantasy Star Universe Beta that will be a free download for 2 days and playable for a full week. Can't wait to check that out.

Got my PS3 reserve secured this morning. I also reserved Ridge Racer 7 and Untold Legends. Only 7 people on line at the Gamestop in Shakopee. Looking forward to the month called November. Wii should go on pre-sale soon. Maybe next week.

I saw Jackass 2 with Tommy today. I laughed so hard I cried a little. Good times for the most part. The move ranged from ridiculously funny (farting into the bubble helmet) to really stupid (leech placed on an eyeball/drinking horse semen). Good $6 spent overall.

In DDR news, I played a bit at the bowling alley today. My scores are improving day by day at a very very slow rate, but I'll accept that. Tomorrow I'll go to Burnsville mall and hang out at the arcade a little bit.

I also want to check out Circuit City. They had some nice stuff in their ad this week. Best seller games for the GBA for only $15. That includes Pokemon red and green, Mario Kart, and Zelda. They also have WoW time cards for only $20 instead of $30.

Won $70 at Canterbury today playing Blackjack. Not bad.

Preorder the PS3

Gamestop will be doing very limited preorders on Tuesday morning at 10am. $100 down should guarantee you a system on day one. Each Gamestop should get between 15 and 20 systems. Now bring on the Wii preorders (not that its gonna be hard to get).

Now that I am not working at Target, I'll have some more time for myself. Mostly to play DDR and WoW.

Now This is Cool!

Blizzard is doing a limited edition for Burning Crusade. I'm all over that. The LE for WoW had a music CD, DVD, art book, in game pet, and scroll in a very nice package. Nice work Blizzard! Now release it already!

I have unlocked a bunch of great stuff in Supernova PS2 and I am not done yet. Some of the songs include Red Zone, Healing D Vision, and Max 300 super. Great game so far! The arcade upgrade is now last week of October...
