I Love Surprises

Doom for the Xbox Live Arcade? I never even knew it was coming! I downloaded it and played for a short bit and its good. Brings shooters back to the simpler days where I can enjoy them.

Also, Banjo Kazooie is coming to the 360. I kinda guessed that we would see this franchise again. The trailor shows very little, but its enough to wet my whistle.

Time to play some more Supernova. I love it so far!

Tasty Morsels

Lots going on. The main thing this week is Supernova for PS2. I'm gonna go pick it up today and play for at least 2 hours. I am not gonna read the spoilers this time around. I will unlock everything on my own. All courses and songs. That is assuming the Iginition Pad 3.0 doesn't fall apart on me. Been reading some real negative reviews on it (of course after i buy it) and I have been experiencing some problems.

Tokyo Game Show 06 has come and gone. It was a good show I guess. Microsoft is trying to bust into Japan in a big way and they have a shot. That Blue Dragon looks pretty good. In fact, I like this link here. http://www.next-gen.biz/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=3877&Itemid=2 Next-Gen's top 20. They put alot of time in this article.

Final Fantasy 6 comes out for GBA in Japan 11-30 which means that a USA '06 version is not likely. I'll be happy with FF3 and 5 this holiday.

Also, Phantasy Star is getting the anniversary compilation treatment in Japan only. They are adding the series to the Sega Ages series for the 20th anniversary of the first game. What ever happened to the remakes of 1 and 2 that were released in Japan but not here? Also 4 was supposed to be remade too, but that didn't even come out in Japan.

On an unrelated note, I watched Extreme make over Home Edition. It was a good show. Almost choked me up. I'm a sissy.

Disturbingly Cool

This was posted somewhere a few days ago. I like it. Almost like American McGee style Mario.

Den Den Town

Officially my happy place. My trips to Japan revolve around my visits to Osaka's game and anime district. Kotaku did a special on it and its worth a good look. http://www.kotaku.com/gaming/feature/feature-denden-town-for-visitors-201193.php

There is a ton of games coming out this week. A ton. Believe it or not, I want Pokemon and Rocket Slime. http://www.next-gen.biz/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=3824&Itemid=2

Was quite happy that I got a new high score in Naoki Neo Standard and I passed Trip Five again. Woo!

Fascination!!!

This is the new song. And its from the same guys that brought us Healing Vision Angelic!

Makes me really want Supernova now.

Lots of Wii leakage this week. Long story short; November 19th for $249 and Wii Sports as the pack-in. Zelda as a launch game. 30 virtual games at launch too. I can't wait to get my next gen system so I can play SNES games again =)

Why did they delay Zelda for the Cube until December. Can't quite figure that one out.

Hadouken!

The Mailman must like me today. Got 2 games from Gamefly and my new OPM and EGM. The 2 games are Guilty Gear and Loco Roco for the PSP. On top of that, I finally got Phoenix Wright for DS from Amazon.com. I ordered it on July 3rd and I finally got it. I had a chance to try it for a little bit. Its good and it might get better.

The DDR SuperNova Soundtrack should be in stores this week for those that preorder the PS2 version. Bemanistyle has the tracks already.
http://www.bemanistyle.com/ Still waiting on news of the arcade kit.

I noticed some ads in recent magazines about Dungeons and Dragons table top games. They simply point out the fact that you are playing on online game with anonymous people when you can all sit around a table and enjoy the game, like before the whole PC MMO thing. Whats funny is that there is a D&D online MMO that they want you to play too... well, its kinda funny.

Happy 7th Dreamcast

The Sega Dreamcast was released on 9-9-99. It was one of the coolest game launches of all time. I did the midnight opening at EB at the Mall of America and it was a blast. Besides a few disc errors, the launch went very well. Who can forget Soul Calibur, Sonic Adventure, and NFL 2k. I have some pictures lying around somewhere. I'm still trying to figure out why the system failed.

Playstation 3 gets delayed in Europe until March of next year. Sorry guys. Was Blu-Ray that important?

Burnsville Center

I can't go to Burnsville Center anymore because the pads on both dance machines are bad. Sure the sound is pumped up to max and the game is at 4 songs now, but if the pads stick...even sometimes, it is no fun at all. So I'm gonna have to give it a break until they do something. They have a tournament scheduled for the end of the month but I'm not sure if i will make it. Its been a long long time since I was in a tournament.

Sony shocks the world by delaying the PS3 in Europe and announcing a mere 400k units for the US launch. That means each store that sells games will only get about 20-40 machines on day one. Ouchies.

In Xbox Live Arcade news, Scramble from Konami also got delayed till next week. In its place, we get the Project Gotham Racing theme deck for Uno for 100 points. Awesome. That's ok. Still trying to best my Time Pilot score.

My 100th Post!

So I finally hit 60 in WoW and I have been running Stratholme and Scholomance as often as I can to get rep with the Argent Dawn and better equipment. The problem is that if I do not group with my guild mates, chances are we will wipe more than once. Grouping with guildies has proven to be quite an enjoyable experience. Not only do they have the gear for these runs, but they have the know how. Its amazing how quick and efficient these guys are. Pick up groups just don't do it for me. Usually a waste of time.

No big word on the Wii launch yet, but its rumored to be coming soon. Mid September should bare all for Wii news.

This week is fairly big for releases. Loco Roco for PSP, Test Drive for 360, and Yakuza for PS2. Of these, Loco Roco seems the most interesting. I will probably Gamefly that one.

In DDR News, I AAA'd some Standard songs last night. Can't Stop Falling in Love and Cutie Chaser Morning Mix. Not too hard but an achievement.

This weekend will be my Dad's 60th birthday BBQ. Looking forward to seeing old friends and family there.
