Retro Greatness: Turbo Express

Perhaps one of the finest handhelds ever released for its time. This was the first handhald that actually played games for a home console. It is also the only handheld that went up in price after it was released due to demand. Very sexy screen and played all Turbografx-16 card games. The only downside was that it chewed through batteries so fast and the unit could not fit in the average pocket. Have a look here. Almost worth bidding on http://cgi.ebay.com/NEC-Turbo-Express-Grafx-16-Handheld-System-w-15-GAMES_W0QQitemZ8281569929QQcategoryZ62054QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Its especially exciting that the Nintendo Wii will play Turbografx games. There were some very cool classics that hooked me. Personal favs are Alien and Devil Crush, Dungeon Explorer (super generic action RPG), R-Type, Galaga 88, and Blazing Lazers. Nothing is known how the Wii's "virtual console" will work. Some have said that there will be a simple monthly subscription fee to download games or a system silmilar to XBOX Live Arcade where you purchase each title. Everything should be spilled at E3 next week.
